On 25-28 June 2009 Public Organization “Karpaty” and partners are organizing in Lviv traditional fan-festival for football supporters from different countries called “Eurofan-2009” for the 3rd consecutive year.
The list of participating fans’ teams:
Zenit (Russia), Liverpool (England), Rangers (Scotland), Bohemians (Czech Republic), Schalke 04 (Germany), Wisla Krakow, Ostrovia (both - Poland), Rapid (Austria), Heerenveen (The Netherlands), Inter Milan, Chievo Verona (both - Italy), Atletico Madrid (Spain), Wales supporters team, Croatia supporters team, Karpaty (Ukraine) and Football team of Ukrainian showbiz stars FC Maestro. 16 teams in total.
During games there will be live comments and music (speakers will be placed around the grounds, DJ and commentator will work with microphones).
The hospitality program includes accommodation for teams, excursion tours around Lviv with interpreters, celebration party after the tournament, souvenirs and mementos for all participating teams and volunteers involved.
All interested teams’ members and volunteers will get privileged tickets for a large rock festival organized by Persha Pryvatna Brovarnya (official partner of “Eurofan” project), which will take place in Lviv on 29 June 2009.
Also during the tournament a charitable act “From European fans to Lviv children” will take place. Some delegations are bringing to Lviv humanitarian supplies (sports equipment, toys, sweets etc.). In addition NGO “Karpaty” together with “Maltese Aid Service” will organize fundraising, money raised will be spent to buy football kits, balls for children’s football teams of boarding schools of Lviv and Lviv region.
Important element of the event will be getting necessary experience by volunteers involved. More than 50 young gentlemen and ladies (the majority of those are ardent supporters of FC “Karpaty”) with great enthusiasm accepted an offer to render services and provide assistance in organization of “Eurofan-2009”.
Meeting teams, assisting in checking in delegations in hotels and accompanying, interpreting and guiding services are among tasks to be carried out by volunteers. Apart from getting necessary experience our volunteers will be given a number of pleasant surprises by the organizers of the event. The “Eurofan” tournament is a unique event not only in Ukraine, but in all Europe.
The schedule of “Eurofan-2009”:
June 25, 2009 – teams arrive in Lviv and check in hotels, have excursions around Lviv.
June 26, 2009 – official opening, qualification stage (4 groups, 4 teams in each group, each team plays 2 matches in its group).
June 27, 2009 – qualification stage (each team plays 1 last match in its group) and quarterfinal matches for teams which get first two positions in their groups).
June 28, 2009 – semifinals, match for the 3rd place and final match, after that - awarding ceremony, celebration party. |
